I’m a self-taught surface pattern designer from Spain, now based in Navarra, in the green northern part of the country.

I was a creative girl as a child. I spent hours painting, writing, crafting and even drawing my own comics, in which the characters were my stuffed animals(I believe it’s the first time I reveal this).

However, instead of pursuing an artistic career, I studied Biology. I don’t regret it. I think of myself as the kind of person who likes to do so many different things. I specialized in researching primate behavior and for that reason I had the opportunity to live in countries such as Argentina, Madagascar and Germany.

I didn’t reconnect with my artistic side until I came back to Spain. I encountered surface pattern design when I took a sewing course. Finding fabrics I like in brick-and-mortar stores turned out to be challenging and I came to a conclusion: I had to design my own fabrics.

I am a very do-it-yourself person so I learned on my own how to create repeat patterns and in 2021 I opened an on-line store called Muxune to sell swimwear fabrics with my designs. Whether I live here or there I now know pattern design is the place where I want to stay.

I feel proud of my scientific background and I like showing it on my art. My patterns are full of animals and elements of nature, but I also love a challenge and enjoy creating novelty or geometric prints.
